When you create a ChatterRank account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). If you connect a WordPress site, we store the connection credentials needed to publish content on your behalf.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you interact with our platform — pages visited, features used, audit requests made, and settings configured. This helps us understand how the product is being used and where we can improve it.

Website Data

To perform SEO audits and generate content, we analyse publicly accessible content on the websites you connect to ChatterRank. This includes page text, metadata, and link structure.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve ChatterRank's services
• Run SEO audits, generate content briefs, and produce AI-written articles
• Track keyword rankings and AI visibility across platforms
• Send transactional emails (account verification, billing receipts, audit completions)
• Send product updates and tips — you can opt out at any time
• Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents
• Analyse aggregated, anonymised usage patterns to guide product development

We do not use your data to train AI models or sell your information to third parties.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers

We use trusted third-party services to operate ChatterRank:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication
• Vercel — application hosting and infrastructure
• Payment processor — secure handling of subscription payments (we do not store card details)
• OpenRouter / AI providers — powering content generation (only the content brief data needed for generation is passed)

Each provider processes your data only as necessary to deliver their service and under their own privacy and security obligations.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ChatterRank, our users, or the public.

4. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption)
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we never store plaintext passwords
• Database access is restricted by role and network rules
• API keys and secrets are stored in encrypted environment variables
• We perform regular dependency updates to address known vulnerabilities

5. Your Rights

You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

• Access: You can request a copy of the data we hold about you

• Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data; we will action this within 30 days
• Export: You can export your audit history, keyword data, and content briefs from your dashboard at any time
• Opt-out: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in any email we send
